3 Tips for Building Scalable Processes

In order to grow a business, it’s important to build scalable processes. A scalable process can be described as a repeatable series of steps that can be performed by different people in different locations to achieve the same outcome. In order to ensure that your business is able to grow, it’s important to have processes in place that can be easily replicated and scaled.

This is a step in the right direction so that when your company does grow, the processes still work efficiently and don’t create more work for employees. There are a few key things to keep in mind when creating scalable processes: documenting everything, incorporating project management tools, and building company culture. Let’s take a closer look at each of these tips!

scalable processes

Document everything!

One of the most important things to do when creating scalable processes is to document everything. This means taking the time to write out each step of the process and who is responsible for each step. Doing this makes it easy for new employees to learn the process and for old employees to reference if they need a refresher. It also helps to prevent mistakes, because everyone knows exactly what they need to do and how to do it.

Arvo makes it super easy to document your processes with no coding or design skills necessary. Create a playbook to document each of your processes and organize it into a searchable knowledge hub. Your team will never have to guess where to find your processes again, saving you time and energy to focus on scaling your business.

Incorporate project management tools

Another important tip for building scalable processes is to incorporate project management tools. There are various project management tools out there, such as ClickUp, Asana, and Trello. These tools help keep everyone on track by documenting tasks, setting deadlines, and tracking progress. This can be especially helpful for remote teams. Our personal favorite is ClickUp.

One great thing about ClickUp is that it’s customizable to fit the needs of your business. You can create different Spaces for each project, and within each Space you can add as many Lists as you need. Plus, there are a variety of integrations available to help you get the most out of ClickUp. Speaking of integrations, did you know it’s possible to embed your Arvo playbooks directly into ClickUp? This is a game-changer when it comes to building scalable processes across your entire team!

We created playbooks, ClickUp Mastery and Asana Mastery, to help you get started organizing with project management tools. Email us at getanswers@askarvo.com and we will add them to your Arvo account for free!

Company culture is essential

Finally, it’s important to build company culture around the processes you create. This means that everyone in the company understands why the processes are in place and how they contribute to the overall goal of the company. When everyone is on the same page, it’s much easier to get buy-in and compliance with the processes.

At Arvo, we believe that company culture is essential to scaling a business. We’ve built ours around a few key values: transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. These three values guide everything we do, from the way we communicate with each other to the way we build our processes. We believe that by living out our values, we’re able to scale our business while maintaining strong company culture.
